Step-by-Step Guide for First-Time Applicants

Follow these steps to complete your application for BYU-Pathway Worldwide:

  1. Starting Your Application

    • Visit the BYU-Pathway Worldwide website or click Apply Now to go directly to the application page.
    • You will be redirected to the Church Account login page for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
      • Church members: Log in with your Church Account credentials.
      • Friends of the Church: Create a Church Account (no Church membership required). This account will be used to authenticate your application and student portal in the future.
  2. Welcome Page
    After logging in, you will see a Welcome Page with one of the following options:

    • New Applicant: Click "Apply Now."
    • Started an application but didn't submit it: Click "Continue Application" to resume where you left off.
    • Existing Student: A message will direct you to your student portal.

    Note: This guide follows the steps for new applicants. Required information will be marked with a red asterisk (*).

  3. Terms & Conditions

    • Read and acknowledge the Terms & Conditions. Click "I Acknowledge" at the bottom of the page to proceed.
  4. Personal and Contact Information

    • Provide your personal details, current address, and contact information.
    • Pre-filled Information:
      • Church members: Some fields will be pre-filled based on your Church Account.
      • Friends of the Church: Fewer fields will be pre-filled, so more information will need to be entered manually.
  5. Citizenship and Background Information

    • Provide your citizenship details and answer basic questions about your background.
  6. First Evaluation

    • The system will quickly assess whether you meet the basic requirements for participation in BYU-Pathway Worldwide programs.
      • If you meet the requirements, you will move on to the Language Check:
        • If you don't need to take the English Language Assessment, you will proceed directly to the Program Selection Page.
        • If you do need to take the assessment, you will be directed to complete it.
        • If you do not meet the language level for EnglishConnect 3, you will be provided with a link to apply for EnglishConnect 1 & 2.
  7. Program Selection Page

    • Based on your responses, a dropdown menu will show your available program options.
    • You can add programs in your student portal, as long as you meet the program’s requirements.
    • Choose your program, review the details, and click "Save and Continue" to finalize your selection.
  8. CES Acknowledgment Page

    • Agree to the Church Educational System (CES) Honor Code by checking the acknowledgment box.
  9. Completing Your Application

    • After completing all sections:
      • Go to your Application Dashboard.
      • Click "Application Summary".
      • Select "View Decision" to access your Admission Decision Letter.
