Graduation Application

The deadline to apply for graduation is 2 weeks before the end of each term, as follows:

Term 3: Last day to apply is Friday, June 13 2025

Term 4: Last day to apply is Friday, August 8, 2025

Applying for Graduation or for a Completion Certificate

Before applying for a certificate or degree, check your degree progress audit to make sure you've completed all requirements. You can find your degree audit in your student portal by going to "Academics" then "Degree Progress Audit."

To apply for an EnglishConnect completion certificate, PathwayConnect completion certificate, or to apply for graduation for certificates and/or degrees earned through BYU-Pathway Worldwide in partnership with BYU-Idaho and Ensign College, follow the instructions below:

1. Log in to your student portal
2. Select "Support"  then "Companion" in the navigation pane on the left side of the screen.
3. Log into Companion using your byupathway.edu email address.
4.  Select the "Services" button at the bottom of the page.
5. Click on the "Graduation Application" button. This will open the graduation application.
6. Fill out the application by providing the information in each field.
7. You will need to have a current ecclesiastical endorsement to be awarded graduation in any program.

Filling out the application will automatically send a case to the Graduation Team for review. The review process can take 2-3 weeks. After the case has been reviewed, communication will be sent informing the student of the status of their application.

The deadline to apply for graduation is one week before the end of each term. Any applications received after the deadline will be reviewed for graduation in the following term.

Graduation Event

Students graduating with an AAS or BS from BYU-Idaho or a Certificate, AAS, or BAS from Ensign College are invited to participate in the in person commencement ceremony for the institution they are receiving their credentials. 

If you plan to participate in one of the commencement ceremonies offered through BYU-Idaho or Ensign College, you should fill out the graduation survey contained in the application by the deadline to indicate you will be there in person and to get your name in the program.

The last day to fill out the graduation survey and have your name included in the program is Monday, June 23, 2025 for BYU-Idaho. There is no deadline for Ensign college at this time as their next commencement will be in April 2026.

If you do not fill out the graduation application or the survey before the deadline, you are still welcome to attend the commencement. 

For BYU-Idaho students, you can participate in the commencement ceremony in the term before, during, or after you complete an associate or bachelor's degree. You will need to visit the graduation events page on BYU-Idaho's website for instructions on purchasing or renting a cap and gown, and to sign up for email communications about the event.

For Ensign College students, you can participate in the commencement event during or after the term in which you complete requirements for a certificate, associate or bachelor's degree. Ensign College has one commencement a year, in April. You will need to visit Ensign College's webpage for instructions on purchasing a cap and gown.
