About FERPA and the Confidentiality of Student Records
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) protects the privacy of student records. At BYU-Pathway Worldwide, we take additional measures beyond the standard FERPA policy to ensure the safety and confidentiality of your education records.
Directory Information
The following information is considered directory information and may be shared with missionaries and mentors for legitimate business purposes:
Student name and local address
Local phone numbers
Dates of attendance (current and past)
Religious affiliation to a local church or congregation
Photograph
Number of months/semesters enrolled
Total hours earned
Anticipated future enrollments
Course registrations prior to the beginning of a semester/term
Class standing (e.g., freshman, sophomore)
Enrollment status (full-time, part-time, less than half-time)
Deferred registration eligibility
Any information not listed above is considered Personally Identifiable Information and must not be shared without explicit consent.
